Garage Upgrades for Your New Year’s Resolution | Omaha NE Homeowner’s Guide
Is building healthy lifestyle habits one of your new year’s resolutions?
There’s no time like now to set up your space for success. One of the first places you can start is right in your own garage!
I am a local mortgage broker serving Omaha, Papillion, Bellevue, La Vista, and all of eastern Nebraska. If you need help finding a local realtor or qualifying for a home loan please contact me.
Set Up a Garage Gym
Bring your workout home with a garage gym for the ultimate fitness enthusiast. You can order your favorite equipment and gear, such as treadmills, bikes, and free weights. Most companies will deliver right to your home and may even help you set things up for more complicated installs.
Consider adding specialty gym flooring, often sold in interlocking mats, to really take things to the next level. Now all you have to do is roll out of bed to start your workout. Once you get everything setup, you can also cancel your gym membership and save on fees.
Create a Soothing Space
If you are more of a yoga or pilates enthusiast, you can also take advantage of your garage space to create your own studio. Wall mirrors, a bar, and rolled yoga mats can transform this basic room into just what you need to get more zen.
Add folding screens and plug-in or battery-powered lighting to really set a tranquil mood. A portable speaker can play soothing music, while a laptop or tablet can be used to stream guided yoga sessions.
Make Everything Accessible
If you would prefer to keep your exercise away from home, there are steps you can take to make getting out the door even easier. Designate a drop-off/pick-up zone by your garage door. Keep your gym bag, yoga mat, or other necessities within easy reach. Now you won’t need to worry about finding what you need in order to make it to your workout or class.
